Can an RPGMAKER DEV learn GODOT? Here's the SAME GAME in BOTH engines!
I've recently started learning Godot, and wanted to inspire everyone that they too can transition from RPG Maker to any other engine they want! RPG Maker is awesome at teaching us basic programming logic and breaking things apart. Does this knowledge transfer over to other engines? YES. We know how to do it. We just have to figure out the language to make it happen! And guess what. There are TONS of tutorials out there for making your own game in Godot or any other engine you want!
That being said - RPG Maker is still amazing for making JRPGs quickly and easily. I think I will stick with RPG Maker for my traditional RPGs! But - you never know :)
In this video, I take you through the process of making a game in RPG Maker to Godot! Admittedly, making a full-fledged RPG in Godot is pretty involved. Therefore, I chose to make a simple boulder-falling minigame, that's easy to make in both engines!
Enjoy!
