Russia has threatened to attack a new US defense base in Poland with “advanced weapons” — just hours after reportedly launching an intercontinental ballistic missile at Ukraine on Thursday. NY Post reporter Taylor Knight shares this story.

Moscow leveled the warning after saying the opening of the ballistic missile defense base, located in the town of Redzikowo near the Baltic coast, would lead to an increase in overall nuclear danger.

“Given the nature and level of threats posed by such Western military facilities, the missile defense base in Poland has long been added to the list of priority targets for potential destruction, which, if necessary, can be executed with a wide range of advanced weapons,” Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said.

The US base at Redzikowo, which opened Nov. 13, is part of a broader NATO missile shield — known as “Aegis Ashore” — that can intercept short- to intermediate-range ballistic missiles, according to the alliance.

Maryland SoccerPlex strives for perfection and a high level of preparation for every event, regardless of whether it is for a recreational tournament or an MLS NEXT. But achieving that high standard was no easy task when doing it manually.

Sports line marking is a process of creating lines on sports fields for training, match, professional purposes and more. In the past, this was done manually, but our advancements in technology have allowed Maryland SoccerPlex to do this automatically. The Maryland SoccerPlex is a facility that indeed has been benefitting from this upgrade.

The Turf Tank One is a specially-designed robot that can paint sports lines on any ground automatically. Our robot "assistant" has been a game-changer for the Maryland SoccerPlex, as it has allowed them to quickly and easily create different sports fields for their teams.

What would normally take hours of manual labor can now be done in a fraction of the time, and with much greater precision. Listen to the Director of The Sports Turf Institute at Maryland SoccerPlex, Jerad Minnick himself.

Why bet on a team? It's a simple and fundamental question, but one many bettors don't ponder.

Is it because you have a gut feeling? Is the team one of your favorites? Or do you just need some extra cash?

There's only one valid reason to bet on a game -- because you've got a sports betting system that guarantees the best possible results. At Blowout Picks, that's precisely what we offer.

A lot of handicappers promise the moon. They pretend to have a "secret" or "trick" that will unlock the door to riches. They'll tell you all about "magic runs" and "streaks that never end." And they're all lying.

We're not going to tell you we've hacked the sports betting industry. There's no trick behind what we offer -- just a cutting-edge sports betting system based on a revolutionary concept.

Betting as an investment.

Sound surprised? Don't be. Using sports betting systems as an investment strategy is no different than picking stocks or bonds. Actually, there is one difference -- it's more intelligent. There's no way to beat Wall Street. The small-time investor has no chance competing against super-wealthy bankers. So stop betting on sports and start investing in sports.

Betting as an investment is a sounder strategy -- If you have the right person managing your sports portfolio. And that's exactly what we have.

Our CEO isn't just a world-class handicapper -- he's a former stock analyst with high-level finance experience. He's assembled A-team rivals anything the betting industry has seen. You wouldn't trust your stock portfolio to someone without financial experience or feel comfortable investing your hard-earned money with shady operators who make impossible promises.

Why should your sports betting portfolio be any different?

At Blowout Picks we are masters of data. We have the most highly placed industry connections and an unparalleled grasp of historical trends. We work tirelessly to uncover every edge possible. Our experience and technical skill rivals and exceeds any Vegas sports book.

We believe savvy sports bettors are smart enough to recognize an amazing opportunity. There is no stronger investment than sports betting done properly. Stop wasting your time and money.

NFL Launches Initiative To Increase Diversity In Sports Medicine At 2022 NFL Spring League Meeting

ATLANTA (May 24, 2022) – The NFL, together with the NFL Physicians Society (NFLPS) and the Professional Football Athletic Trainer Society (PFATS), today announced the launch of the NFL Diversity in Sports Medicine Pipeline Initiative, which will provide medical students at the four Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU) medical schools with the opportunity to complete a clinical rotation with NFL club medical staff. This initiative aims to increase and diversify the pipeline of students interested in pursuing careers in sports medicine to help make a positive impact in the field and, over time, help to diversify NFL club medical staff.

Medical students interested in primary care sports medicine and/or orthopedic surgery
from Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science, Howard University College of Medicine, Morehouse School of Medicine, and Meharry Medical College will be selected by their respective schools to complete one-month clinical rotations with NFL clubs during the 2022 NFL season. A total of 16 total students will participate in this inaugural season, two students each at eight participating NFL clubs: Atlanta Falcons, Cincinnati Bengals, Los Angeles Chargers, Los Angeles Rams, New York Giants, San Francisco 49ers, Tennessee Titans and Washington Commanders. In 2023, the program will expand to recruit students from additional academic institutions and medical disciplines and place those students with medical staffs at more NFL clubs.

A study that examines diversity of the medical student population shows Black medical students comprise only 7.3 percent of the total medical school population in the U.S. – a figure that has risen less than 1 percent over the last 40 years and is far lower than the 13.4 percent Black population in the United States.

According to the NFLPS, 86 percent of their membership identify as white, 8 percent identify as Asian, 5 percent identify as Black and 1 percent identify as Hispanic. According to PFATS, 65 percent of their membership identify as white, 23 percent identify as Black, 8 percent identify as Hispanic and 4 percent identify as Asian.

“Increasing diversity across every role in our league and at our clubs is essential. Diversity makes us stronger,” said NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell. “We have an opportunity to help increase the pipeline of diverse sports medicine professionals, which is imperative for us as a league. This initiative is an example of how we can lend our platform for a societal benefit. I’m proud that our league can help inspire the next generation of sports medicine professionals.”

Through this program, the NFL, NFLPS and PFATS are not only working to diversify NFL club medical staffs, but also to increase health equity for athletes across the country. The importance of diversity and representation on medical care teams is well-established: diverse medical staff can facilitate improved patient outcomes.

“We have significant work to do to ensure that the NFLPS membership more closely mirrors the player population we treat every day,” said NFLPS President and San Francisco 49ers head team physician Dr. Timothy McAdams. “It begins here – by broadening the pipeline and encouraging medical students from diverse backgrounds to consider the possibilities of a career in sports medicine.”

The expansion of this pipeline initiative in 2023 will broaden to disciplines beyond primary care sports medicine and orthopedic surgery. Some of the roles that may be included are physician assistants, certified athletic trainers, physical therapists, occupational therapists, nutritionists and behavioral health clinicians. Additionally, while the inaugural season of this program is focused on providing Black medical students with exposure to careers in sports medicine, the NFL, NFLPS and PFATS will also work toward widening the sports medicine pipeline for other people of color and women in the seasons ahead.

“I greatly look forward to welcoming exceptional HBCU medical students to our medical staff this fall,” said Reggie Scott, PFATS President and LA Rams Vice President, Sports Medicine and Performance. “The representation that will come from seeing more people of color treating players on NFL sidelines has the potential to inspire people of color from around the country to pursue careers in sports medicine.”

#6 Acting In The Present Moment - [How To Increase Motivation In Sport] - Motivation is thought to be a combination of many things… the drive within us to achieve our aims… the outside factors which affect it…and the aspiration to prove ‘something’ to ourselves.

With this in mind, motivation is considered and divided into two forms, intrinsic motivation and extrinsic motivation.

What is Intrinsic motivation?

This is motivation considered to come within [‘in’trinsic]… the desire to perform and succeed and…

• The desire to overcome the problem or task
• Develop of skills and habits to overcome that problem
• Rehearsal of successful habits until they are perfect
• A feeling of pride and enjoyment in performing the skill
• Repeated goal setting in order to progress and maintain motivation

Extrinsic motivation

Extrinsic motivation comes from a source outside of the performer [‘ex’trinsic]. These are things, which can encourage the athlete to perform and fall into two groups:

Tangible rewards: Physical rewards such as medals and money.

Intangible rewards: Praise, recognition and achievements.

Motivation, Arousal and Performance

#6 Engaging In Creation - [How To Increase Motivation In Sport] - -Motivation is related to the intensity and direction of behaviour. That is, the level of arousal and the way in which we behave affect our motivation and hence performance. There are currently two theories which try to explain this link:

Hull's Drive Theory:

This demonstrates a linear relationship between performance and arousal. This means at low levels of arousal, performance is low and performance increases in line with an increase in arousal.

Drive theory

This theory also explains that novices to the sport often do not perform well under pressure and their skill level decreases due to poor habits and techniques. Habits are described as the performance, which is dominant within each person. Experienced athletes tend to perform better under pressure due to their superior skills and the use of stress management techniques.

Performance = habit x drive (arousal)

Inverted U Law:

This law states that arousal improves performance up to an optimal point. Past this point, performance begins to decrease.

Inverted U theory:

There are three rules, which surround this theory

Activity: Some sports are better performed at low arousal, mainly those which require small, precision movements and control, e.g. shooting

Skill level: Beginners to a sport require all of their attention to be focused on the task in hand and so do not cope as well with over-arousal. Highly skilled individuals have the skill well practiced and so do not require such high levels of concentration meaning they can deal better with the arousal level.

Personality: Extroverts perform better in high-pressure, high arousal situations. Introverts tend to do better in a state of low arousal. This is thought to be connected to part of the brain called the RAS or reticular activating system. Introverts have a highly stimulated RAS and so avoid stressful situations, whereas extroverts need high arousal situations to stimulate the RAS.

The RAS is something that you’ll hear me talking a lot about…

Anyways, I hope that this has helped and please remember to follow the full series on YouTube.

Halo Sport is the first-ever brain stimulator used to accelerate movement-based learning. In other words, it speeds up the development of skill, strength, and endurance, depending on the type of training that you pair with it.Halo Sport works by applying non-invasive, mild electrical current to the motor cortex (part of the brain responsible for movement), allowing your brain to build stronger connections and learn movement faster. For example: You can wear Halo Sport for 20 minutes before your training session, which gives you one hour of what neuroscientists call “hyperlearning” or “hyperplasticity”. Training with it accelerates gains across skill, strength, and endurance.

http://www.criticalbench.com/glutes

You’ve probably seen people perform speed & power exercises before or maybe have even done some yourself but you're probably asking what exactly is a speed or power exercise?

To put it simply, it’s a form of exercise that focuses on explosive force, velocity and movement.

Athletes that participate in sports that require quickness, speed and power must include these types of exercise in their training routine. This allows them to exert the maximum amount of force in the shortest period of time possible. The ability to move quickly is vital.

Here are the Benefits of Speed & Power Exercises:

-Develops muscular power and improves overall speed.
-Improves balance through your movement and technique.
-Improves co-ordination and agility as many plyometric exercises involve specific footwork techniques and lower body movement.
-Opposed to bulking up, it tones your muscles instead making you look more lean and feel lighter.

Can Chiropractic really help athletic performance? Yes!

The top things you may not know about chiropractic care are:

1. What happens in an initial consultation?

An initial consultation with us consists of a comprehensive exam including your history. We cover neurological, orthopaedic as well as chiropractic testing. The purpose of this exam is to find out whether or not you have nerve interference (subluxations) that is interfering with your body’s ability to adapt, repair and regenerate. If you have nerve interference then we can help, if not then we will do everything in our power to refer you to someone who can.

2. Do I need x-rays

Your initial examination will determine whether or not you need x-rays. These can be useful to ensure a thorough diagnosis of your problem, to help determine the severity and to rule out any contraindications. We will work with you and your insurance company regarding any expenses of them.

3. What is a subluxation?

A subluxation is a dysfunction in one of the joints in your spine that causes interference to your nervous system. Since your nervous system controls every cell, tissue and organ in your body, then this nerve interference can have a wide range of effects including pain, altered sensation and organ dysfunctions.

4. What is an adjustment?
Once have determined that it is safe to go ahead and correct a condition you are experiencing Doc will apply a very specific force to your spine with the intention of restoring the function and removing the interference from your nerves. This is called a chiropractic adjustment.

5. What is the difference between chiropractic care and physiotherapy?

The primary difference is chiropractic care focuses on the spine, nervous system and the body’s own healing powers. Rather than just focusing on the symptoms and the immediate problem, we specialise in finding the underlying cause of your problems so we can help you feel better and function better as well and stop you from recreating the problems in the future.
