We're diving back into Workers & Resources: Soviet Republic as it launches into 1.0, playing in Realistic Mode difficulty, looking to establish a glorious nation in the barren lands of the Desert Biome! In this let's play, we'll showcase gameplay of what, in my opinion, is one of the best modern city builders of all time. Playing in Realistic Mode really ramps up the difficulty and shows the depth of the game - the economic simulation, the complexity of construction, and the number of considerations to take in mind turn this city-building game into so much more - a nation-builder. With the Biomes DLC, we have access to three unique biomes, and our (first of many?) let's play will showcase Desert gameplay, providing tips and tricks on how to start in the desert, and copious examples showing what not to do too, I'm sure.

Beginning with Caesar 1 where it was almost more like a Roman themed SimCity to becoming a unique walker-based puzzle city-building game in Caesar 3, once they found a formula that worked, they brought it through the ancient world through Egypt, Greece, and China, but when the Impressions Games came to a close a gap was left in the market. The mantle was picked up by Tilted Mill with their attempt to continue but also transform the series with Caesar 4, to mixed reception, and whenever a series stumbles competitors rise up to claim the crown. CivCity: Rome was an amalgamation of Stronghold and Civilization, which was unique but also had its problems. Flanking from another side was Haemimont Games with a series of their own. Glory of the Roman Empire, Imperium Romanum, and finally Grand Ages: Rome all in quick succession. Many consider Grand Ages: Rome to be at least the best 3D Roman city-builder and today I will come to see for myself as I begin to conquer this alternative take on an old favourite.

В Урбеке нет денег. Вместо этого вам придется строить все из собственных ресурсов, таких как еда, уголь или квалифицированная работа. Есть более 30 различных ресурсов для управления! Хорошо управляйте своими природными ресурсами, чтобы они не иссякли до того, как их можно будет заменить. Как вы будете производить энергию для своих жителей и промышленности?

Образование - это главное! Выполнив достаточно квалифицированной работы и научной работы, вы сможете строить более совершенные здания.

Наблюдать
Двигайтесь по улице, чтобы получить более близкое представление о городе, который вы создаете. Увидьте и почувствуйте разницу между районами так, как это делают жители вашего города!

Органический рост
Рост вашего города будет органичным. Некоторые постройки будут появляться в зависимости от окружающих условий. Например, здания высотой более двух этажей появятся в густонаселенных районах и с базовыми услугами.

Вы можете размещать другие постройки самостоятельно, но для них нужны определенные условия. Например, местный рынок должен быть рядом с фермами. Рядом с университетом должно быть несколько средних школ, которые, в свою очередь, требуют близлежащих школ.

Когда дело доходит до дизайна вашего города, у вас есть множество жизнеспособных вариантов. Нет зданий, которые превосходили бы другие. Каждое решение будет иметь свои плюсы и минусы. Буржуазные дома потребляют больше еды и нуждаются в ресурсах, производство которых стоит дороже, но улучшит качество жизни жителей. С другой стороны, повышение производительности промышленности будет производить больше ресурсов, но снизит качество жизни жителей, проживающих в этом районе.
