Ukraine War LIVE: US Shuts Kyiv Embassy as Putin Issues Nuclear Threat | Vantage with Palki Sharma

As the Russia-Ukraine war crosses the 1,000-day mark, a high-stake game of escalation and de-escalation is unfolding between Moscow and Kyiv, with the United States caught in the middle. The US recently closed its embassy in Kyiv, citing fears of a major Russian air strike. While a barrage of Russian missiles was launched, Ukraine's air defenses successfully repelled the attack. This comes after Kyiv, with the US' approval, fired long-range ATACMS missiles deep into Russian territory, targeting a military facility in Bryansk. While Russia claims to have intercepted most of the missiles, the act has further inflamed tensions. In response to these escalating tensions, Russia has revised its nuclear doctrine. The new doctrine lowers the threshold for nuclear use, allowing Russia to employ nuclear weapons not only in response to a nuclear attack but also in response to a conventional attack. This move has been widely condemned by the West as irresponsible and dangerous. On Vantage tonight, Palki Sharma tells you more.

The Kremlin has denied that a phone call took place between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin, claiming an article reporting it "does not correspond at all to reality".

Over the weekend, the Washington Post reported that the US president-elect had already spoken to Putin.

The article claimed Trump had urged the Russian leader not to further escalate the war in Ukraine.

During his election campaign, Trump declined to specify how he would end the war between Russia and Ukraine in a day - but it could involve imposing a deal on both sides.

One of the final messages from the five-person crew of the Titan submersible before it imploded, killing all inside, has been revealed.

Investigators with the US Coast Guard said a message reading, “all good here”, was among the final communications between the Titan and its mother ship, before they lost contact for good.

Also shown at the hearing for the first time was an image, taken by a remotely operated vehicle, of Titan's tail cone sitting on the seafloor following the implosion.

Coast Guard officials began a two-week inquiry on Monday, aiming to uncover the facts of the incident and offer recommendations to prevent similar tragedies.

The deep-sea vessel, operated by Oceangate, was less than two hours into its descent towards the wreck of the Titanic when it imploded in June 2023.

Oceangate CEO Stockton Rush, British explorer Hamish Harding, Pakistani businessman Shahzada Dawood and his son Suleman, and French explorer Paul-Henri Nargeole, were all aboard the Titan at the time of the implosion.

Elio is a kid with goals: “I’m trying to get abducted—by aliens!” In Disney and Pixar’s all-new feature film “Elio,” he might just get what he’s been searching for. The teaser trailer and a new poster are now available for the cosmic misadventure that beams into theaters June 13, 2025.

A space fanatic with an active imagination and a huge alien obsession, Elio’s all in for an epic undertaking when he’s beamed up to the Communiverse, an interplanetary organization with representatives from galaxies far and wide. When Elio is mistakenly identified as Earth’s leader, he must form new bonds with eccentric alien lifeforms, navigate a crisis of intergalactic proportions, and somehow discover who and where he is truly meant to be. Directed by Madeline Sharafian (“Burrow” Sparkshort), Domee Shi (“Bao” short, “Turning Red”) and Adrian Molina (co-screenwriter/co-director of “Coco”), and produced by Mary Alice Drumm (associate producer of “Coco”), the film features the voices of Yonas Kibreab as Elio, Zoe Saldaña as Aunt Olga, Remy Edgerly as Glordon, Brad Garrett as Lord Grigon, Jameela Jamil as Ambassador Questa and Shirley Henderson as OOOOO.

Festiwal wolnych psów, inaczej zwany psimi godami to odbywające się dwa razy w roku wydarzenie organizowane przez psy dla psów. Udział w nim biorą wszystkie wolne psy z okolicy kilku kilometrów. Uroczystości zwykle trwają około tygodnia. Niektóre psy wracają po kilku dniach w celu upewnienia się czy impreza na pewno się zakończyła.
