September 2024 Webinar: Using Sports & Arts to Increase Girls' Agency

Education is a vital catalyst for change, but many girls in the Global South face significant obstacles that prevent them from reaching their full potential. Challenges such as limited access to sexual and reproductive health education and inadequate support for young mothers often keep girls from continuing their education and fully participating in their communities.

During our monthly webinar, "Using Sports & Arts to Increase Girls' Agency," we explore these critical issues and highlight the transformative work of MindLeaps and Moving the Goalposts—organizations partnering with Together Women Rise to elevate girls' agency through innovative approaches in dance and football.

Our grant with MindLeaps supports the creation of a Sexual and Reproductive Health (SRH) program in Uganda, addressing barriers such as high dropout rates due to pregnancy and lack of social-emotional support. The program integrates dance with vital education to empower girls and their mothers.

Our grant with Moving the Goalposts funds the Binti Breaking Barriers Project in Kenya, using football to promote girls' leadership, rights awareness, and economic empowerment. This initiative helps girls overcome systemic barriers and provides critical support for teen mothers and their communities.
