A second Australian teenager has died of suspected methanol poisoning, bringing to six the number of foreign tourists who have died after apparently drinking tainted alcohol in Laos.

The family of Holly Bowles, 19, said they were "heartbroken" to confirm her death, more than a week after she fell ill in the tourist town of Vang Vieng.

Her friend Bianca Jones, also 19, and British lawyer Simone White, 28, from south-east London, were confirmed to have died on Thursday.

Many of the victims were staying at the Nana Backpacker Hostel with staff being told that guests had fallen ill after they failed to check out on 13 November.

The manager of the hostel has since been detained for questioning by police.

Search teams looking for Jay Slater in Tenerife have found a body near the last known location of the missing British teenager's mobile phone.

The Guardia Civil said its officers and a mountain rescue unit found the body of a young man in the Masca area "after 29 days of non-stop searching".

The 19-year-old was last seen on 17 June, after visiting an Airbnb rented by two people he had been with at a music festival on the island.

There has been more unrest in parts of the UK, with police coming under attack in cities such as Darlington and Plymouth.

Several vehicles and a pub were also damaged in Birmingham after false reports of a far-right march.

There has been violent disorder in towns and cities across the UK since last Tuesday, the day after three young girls were killed in Southport.

The riots began after false claims on social media said someone who had arrived in the UK illegally was to blame for the attack.

More than 30 air strikes have taken place in the southern suburbs of Beirut - where Hezbollah has a strong presence.
