The White Steam Deck

Nearly three years to the day after teasing the world with a white version of the Steam Deck, Valve has finally decided to release the normally black handheld gaming PC in that color too. The limited-edition white model is going on sale for $679 on November 18th at 3PM PT / 6PM ET, everywhere the handheld is sold, including Australia and the various regions of Asia served by Komodo.

It’s no different on the inside than a normal model, says Valve:

Steam Deck OLED: Limited Edition White has all the same specs as the Steam Deck OLED 1TB model, but in white and grey. It also comes with an exclusive white carrying case and white microfiber cleaning cloth.

Since the 1TB OLED normally costs $649, you’re effectively paying $30 for the color. Valve says it’s allocated stock proportionally across each region, but once it’s sold out, it won’t be making any more.

In a recent interview to AUTOMATON, Valve's Steam Deck designer Lawrence Yang and programmer Pierre-Loup Griffais confirmed that the company knows about the lack of support and is "monitoring the trend of games requiring kernel-level access" at the moment. Moreover, Valve has partnered with Easy Anti-Cheat and BattlEye in the past "to make it easy for developers to enable support for Steam Deck."

"We have been monitoring the trend of games requiring kernel-level access for their anti-cheat technologies and not supporting Steam Deck as a result. We are extremely aware of the critical need for countermeasures against cheating in online games, but are also considering options carefully. Some of the approaches popular now in the industry might present problematic trade-offs for the end-user in the longer term," Griffais said.

However, Spencer, in an interview with Bloomberg, admits the “expectation is that we would do something” but any kind of physical device is “a few years out” and the team is working on improving the Xbox app to improve functionality on existing handhelds. Well I think this is a fun demo so far. It is exactly what every fan of roman city builder needs. I played on easy which is actually easy. So I look forward to that part when I play a harder choice next time. The style of the game is typical of any city builder game, which in my mind is perfect then you already sort of know how to play game already.

An easy tutorial on how to make a grid based building system in Unity. You don't need to write a custom grid! The system works with standard Unity tilemaps. It implements grid snapping and placement checking. As an example, I used an isometric grid but it will work for any 2d grid.

Anno 1800 is a city building real-time strategy video game, developed by Blue Byte and published by Ubisoft, and is set to be launched within April 2019.

It is the seventh game in the Anno series, and returns to the use of a historical setting following the last two titles, Anno 2070 and Anno 2205, taking place during the Industrial Revolution in the 19th century.

Roman Triumph is a survival city-builder / colony-sim set in roman times where you must lead your people, build a city from the ground up and fortify it with walls, ballistas, archer towers and other roman defenses to survive against the hordes of Barbarians, ferocious Hydra, Minotaur, Cerberus, and other mythological beasts.
Order for your city to thrive, you must keep your citizens fed, safe, healthy, and happy. Strategically designing your city in this randomly generated world will improve your empire's chance to attract new citizens, increase your resource and food production efficiency, please your gods, and maximize safety during attacks.
