WAYS TO LOOK LIKE YOU HAVE A STYLIST
If your shoes are too big, find a thin scarf and tie it all around them to make them look fashionable.
If you have a tear in your regular shoes, you can cut them at the front and at the back to turn them into summer shoes.
If your flip flops look too boring, you can remove the plastic part, and replace it with long shoelaces that tie all-around your ankles.
If you have a boring black shirt, cut out some stencils, put some bleach in a spray bottle and spray on your shirt to give it the design you want.
You can also use tights and markers to draw adorable tattoo sleeves you can wear when you’re going out.
Another cool trick is to run your scarf through a sleeveless shirt to give it some loose airy sleeves.
If your jeans are loose around your waist, you can fix them with a scarf. You simply wear it as a belt and tie a knot/ bow in the middle.

Lifehacks that will fix all of your problems
Everything has an expiry date, except for honey, but we aren’t talking about food here. I’m talking about all the material things around us that eventually break, get rusty and slowly destroyed. Well, don’t worry – in this video I show you some amazing life hacks that will help you bring your old stuff back to life
- To polish your silver and get rid of rust simply place it in some sour milk for 15 minutes.
- To clean dirty white shoes, add some hot water in a bowl and then add a cup of detergent. Then, get a brush to soak the shoes in it and apply some paper towels all around. The towels will absorb the dirt as they are drying, and your shoes will look good as new.
- You can fix tarnished silver by placing it in a bowl filled hard-boiled egg yolks.
- If your tape isn’t sticky enough, simply place it in the microwave for a few seconds.

The former US president Barack Obama has spoken against call-out culture. 'I do get a sense sometimes now among certain young people ... that the way of me making change is to be as judgmental as possible about other people and that's enough.' Obama said that achieving change was a much more difficult issue than simply using social media. 'That is not activism, that is not bringing about change. If all you're doing is casting stones, you are probably not going to get that far,' the 44th US president said at the thir Obama Foundation summit on Tuesday.

Each of us, even the most cynical politician, has a child inside who desperately wants to do something that is genuinely good. We all want to change the world. So we write letters, hold protests, wave our signs, and argue on social media – but nothing gets better. Thus we lose faith in democracy and convince ourselves that lasting change cannot be achieved. After two decades of fighting the multi-billion dollar greyhound gambling industry and winning, Christine Ann Dorchak and Carey Theil - founders of advocacy group GREY2K USA Worldwide - discovered three core lessons about successful activism. And, not only that, they saved the lives of thousands of dogs along the way. Christine Ann Dorchak and Carey Theil are the cofounders of greyhound protection group, GREY2K USA Worldwide. As a nonprofit entity, GREY2K works to end the cruelty of dog racing and fund greyhound rescue on a global basis. Before obtaining her law degree, Christine worked as Research Director for the New England Anti-Vivisection Society. Christine specializes in pari-mutuel law and has drafted laws to successfully prohibit dog racing in several states and countries. A long-distance runner all of her life, she has competed in seven Boston Marathons to date. Carey has been sourced in hundreds of news articles and testified in favor of stronger greyhound protection laws all across the United States. In his free time, Carey volunteers for various non-profit organizations and is a National Master in chess. Christine and Carey are the co-authors of the new book, Brooklyn Goes Home.

This talk was given at a local TEDx event, produced independently of the TED Conferences. Marcus Ellsworth will be taking a look at how art can become a road map for progress as we ask the question "What Now?" Citing examples from world history as well as Chattanooga's present, Marcus will pose the idea that one of the best ways to answer that question is by looking at the creative output of Chattanooga’s citizens. The answers can be found in the music, writing, and even the graffiti of Chattanooga’s most under-served populations. We can use art to engage in meaningful discussions and purposeful action to make Chattanooga better for everyone.
Marcus Ellsworth is a spoken word artist and emcee working in the Chattanooga area. He hosts and organizes Wide Open Floor, a monthly open mic performance art showcase at Barking Legs Theater. He is also the president of Tennessee Valley Pride and co-chair for Tennessee Equality Project’s Hamilton and Bradley County Committee.
Marcus has spent much of the past eight years honing his skills as an artist and working to help build community around art and issues of social justice.
About TEDx, x = independently organized event In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx is a program of local, self-organized events that bring people together to share a TED-like experience. At a TEDx event, TEDTalks video and live speakers combine to spark deep discussion and connection in a small group. These local, self-organized events are branded TEDx, where x = independently organized TED event. The TED Conference provides general guidance for the TEDx program, but individual TEDx events are self-organized.* (*Subject to certain rules and regulations)

When it comes to developing an effective online campaign, it's important to build a team of members who understand their audience and who have a clear understanding of their team's division of labor.Successful campaigns understand the pros and cons of various social media platforms — their respective architectures are important when it comes to strategically propagating a message. Having someone who spends concentrated time to really understand how the platforms work, and how to capitalize on their algorithms, is vital to compete in today's political world.Young people aren't automatically savvy when it comes to boosting a campaign's engagement. What matters most is having the resources to train team members how to better utilize social media.

TRANSCRIPT:
Jen Schradie: So if someone is thinking about how to build some kind of team to really build and develop an online political or other type of campaign, it's really important to think about who is part of this team. Is it people who understand the audience, right? Do you really know that everyone has internet access or not, or uses a specific platform or not?
And also, does the team really have a really clear division of labor? That is one of the most important pieces that I found. That rather than let's build a Twitter platform -- or presence. Let's build a Facebook presence. Let's use Instagram. And it takes more than just building the platform. It really takes developing it.
And what I found is the architecture of the platform is really important. The groups that tended to have the highest levels of participation really built them for participation, which I know sounds kind of silly. But Facebook in particular, but other platforms have different ways that you can actually set up their platforms to either encourage other people to post or to really restrict that.
And I think to really understand how those platforms work, it takes someone dedicated to understand the next platform that we don't even know exists now, and is able to spend time learning and training. And the problem is that groups that have very little resources where they just rely on volunteers who are also doing a million other things, simply can't keep up with all these changes.
I talked to one activist who had gone to a training on how to build a website and to update their website. They had a website. But then six months later, because they weren't doing it on a regular basis, because this organizer had multiple other tasks to do, wasn't really able to remember six months later how to engage.
So really to have a strong online presence, it does take expertise. And expertise doesn't necessarily mean throwing the online engagement to a young intern. In fact, I think that's something that is an assumption that is not always valid, that young people automatically just know how to use social media.
In fact, I was very interested in finding that it was sometimes older Tea Party activists, sometimes in their 70s, who were the most digitally savvy. So not only did they spend a lot of time online, but they also went to trainings. And this is where having resources do really matter. Yes, there is free information online, et cetera.
But what I really found was that however grassroots a lot of these conservative groups were, they did have connections to very resource-rich organizations that provided consistent training in how to use digital media. And not only the training and how to use it, but they also were given and sent a lot of posts and memes, and et cetera, that really worked for the political message that these groups were trying to make.
Around the world, young people have played a crucial role in a multitude of social and political movements. Learn the historical precedence of youth activism and the factors that drive young people to become important advocates for change.

These days, social justice activism seems to be everywhere, from celebrity social media posts to corporate advertising. But is all of this mainstream exposure a good thing, and who really benefits from it?
Fighting for social change - or the appearance of it - sells, as many businesses recognise the need to take political stances on issues like Black Lives Matter or LGBTQ rights. However, some forms of activism can be described as performative or "woke-washing" - gestures that require little commitment and do more to improve a personal or corporate brand than in making substantive social change.
While a social justice statement to millions of followers can be positive in making progressive ideas mainstream, critics say shallow celebrity- or corporate-driven social activism can trivialise the actual work of activists and community organisers.
In this episode of The Stream, we'll look at the commodification of social justice activism and ask: Who is it really helping?

Provincial Launch of FS 16 Days of Activism for No violence against Women and Children Launch.
Clover Hogan worried it could be too late to fix the planet. She says she suffered 'eco-anxiety', a feeling of worry about threats to the environment, such as pollution and climate change. The 22-year-old activist from Hackney, east London, set up 'Force of Nature', a non-profit organisation running workshops helping people tackle their environmental concerns.
She's travelling to the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow to discuss the connection between climate change and mental health.
