Apple Arcade mit 100 Exklusivspielen

Nach Google hat jetzt auch Apple seine zukünftige Spielesrategie vorgestellt. Die heißt Apple Arcade und soll ein monatlich bezahltes Abo mit zum Start 100 neuen und exklusiven Spielen sein.
Mit exklusiv meint Apple dabei auf Mobilgeräten und in Abodiensten exklusiv, die Spiele wie etwa The Pathless gibts also durchaus auch noch anderswo.
Laut Apple sind alle Spiele in der Arcade nicht nur handverlesen, sondern auch von Apple mitfinanziert. Unter den Entwicklern sind Namen wie Annapurna Interactive, Cartoon Network, Konami, Lego, Sega, Hironobu Sakaguchi, Ken Wong und Will Wright.
Die ersten angekündigten Spiele sind Hot Lava, Where Cards Fall, The Pathless, Sonic Racing, Lego Brawls, Oceanhorn 2: Knights of the Lost Realm, Protection: First Light, Enter The Construct und die Adventure-Fortsetzung Beyond a Steel Sky von Revolution Software.
Einen Preis für die in den App-Store integrierte Arcade gibts noch nicht, starten soll der Dienst für iOS, MacOS und TVOS im Herbst 2019.

No Man’s Sky Beyond bekommt VR-Modus

No Mans Sky bekommt mit dem großen Beyond Update einen vollwertigen VR-Modus für PlayStation VR und Steam VR.
Das soll keine abgespeckte Spielerei, sondern tatsächlich das komplette Spiel in Virtual Reality sein.
Neben VR soll das große Beyond Update auch den Multiplayer-Modus zu No Mans Sky Online ausbauen. Das kostenlose Update soll im Sommer erscheinen.

Der Herr der Ringe Gollum Adventure von Daedalic

Dadalic, das Entwicklerstudio hinter Deponia oder Edna bricht aus hat ein Action-Adventure mit offizieller Herr-der-Ringe-Lizenz angekündigt. In Der Herr der Ringe: Gollum spielt man in der neuen Unreal Engine den Niedergang von Smeagol nach.
Erscheinen soll Gollum erst 2021 für PC und die dann vermutlich verfügbaren Next-Gen-Konsolen.
Gollum scheint nur das erste einer ganzen Reihe von HdR-Spielen von Daedalic zu werden, weitere Details sind noch nicht bekannt.

Bethesda kehrt zu Steam zurück

Der Publisher Bethesda scheint bis auf weiteres seine Bethesda-Launcher-Exklusivität zu kippen. So sollen die kommenden PC-Releases Rage 2, Doom Eternal, Wolfenstein: Young Blood und Cyberpilot neben dem eigenen Launcher auch auf Steam angeboten werden.
Auch das bereits veröffentlichte Fallout 76 soll noch dieses Jahr zusätzlich bei Steam landen.
Zu den Gründen hat sich Bethesda nicht geäußert, naheliegend ist aber natürlich die größere Reichweite von Steam im Vergleich zum Bethesda Launcher.

Neues Samurai Shodown angekündigt

Samurai Shodown ist zurück: Auf der PAX East wurde die Fortsetzung der altehrwürdigen SNK-Fighting-Game-Reihe angekündigt. Die heißt schlicht Samurai Shodown und erinnert optisch an den 3D-Comic-Stil der modernen Street-Fighter-Spiele.
Insgesamt soll’s 16 Kämpfer geben, 3 davon komplett neu, der Rest zurückkehrende Fan-Lieblinge.
Samurai Shodown soll im Juni 2019 für PS4 und Xbox One erscheinen, später im Jahr soll’s dann auch noch eine Switch-Version geben.

"HELLDIVERS™ 2 is a 3rd person squad-based shooter that sees the elite forces of the Helldivers battling to win an intergalactic struggle to rid the galaxy of the rising alien threats. From a 3rd person perspective, players use a variety of weapons (pistols, machine guns, flamethrowers) and stratagems (turrets, airstrikes, etc.) to shoot and kill the alien threats. Players can also aim down the sights for a more accurate 1st person camera view. Combat is accompanied by frequent sprays of blood and dismemberment as players exterminate the alien forces or players and squad mates are hit by environmental explosions or friendly fire. Enemy encampments and battlefield environments depict bloodstains and dismembered corpses."

Don’t have a Steam Deck yet? No worries. Valve might give you one for free!

On December 8, during the Game Awards, the maker of the Steam Deck Valve will be giving away the most expensive version of the Steam Deck, with 512GB, every minute to viewers of the livestream event.

If you want to be one of those lucky viewers, all you’ll need to do is head to the link we’ve attached in the description, sign into Steam, and then hit register now. Then, on December 8th, you must watch the Game Awards livestream via Steam— yes, Steam does livestreaming if you didn’t know— to be in with a chance of winning one.

Considering that last year, the length of the Game Awards rivaled the runtime of one of the Lord of the Rings movies, Valve is set to give away hundreds of devices.

And even if you have a Steam Deck already, you should register anyway because A) who doesn’t need a second Steam Deck? and B) everyone who registers gets a very cute Steam Pal digital sticker.

Of course you’ll be wanting to pick up a Steam Deck to replace your Switch because the technical issues of Pokemon Scarlet and Violet have pushed you to the brink. But don’t retire that nearly 6 year old handheld just yet, because in an extremely rare acknowledgement by Nintendo, it seems that the game might actually be getting some fixes.

The game just got its first patch since launch, and will make some additions as well as address some issues. Ranked battling is coming to the game’s battle stadium, and there have been some bug fixes, including a bug where the music during the game’s Elite Four confrontations wouldn’t play correctly.

As for what the additional bug fixes are, who knows what exactly what has been mended in this patch, but some of the biggest ones include massive frame rate drops, pop in at extremely close distances, invisible legendaries, and clipping through environments, but it sounds like some, if not all of these problems, will be addressed.

In addition to the patch notes, Nintendo stated that, “We are aware that players may encounter issues that affect the games' performance. Our goal is always to give players a positive experience with our games, and we apologize for the inconvenience. We take the feedback from players seriously and are working on improvements to the games."

A statement like this is almost unheard of from the gaming giant. Considering its rarity, as well as the fact that Scarlet and Violet have been Nintendo’s fastest selling games ever, the breadth of issues, as well as the volume of players pointing them out, must be immense.
